Plenty of marijuana growers prune their pot plants after four to five weeks vegetative growth. Trimming off lower branches. These lower branches won't produce much marijuana bud. They also tend to cause air flow problems.

Then again towards the finish of the vegetative stage or in first weeks of marijuana flowering It can be tempting to prune during marijuana flowering, especially if you didn't remove under performing lower branches for air flow, but do not. After third week of marijuana flower do not prune.

It is best to prune in the morning or when your lights first come on. As it gives the marijuana plant a complete day to get better.
